Some briefs start with what you need to include — this one started with what we wanted to avoid: a Christmas song.

Three global Christmas films, all tied together by one song: “With You” by Hannah Grace.

From the beginning, we wanted something timeless — emotional but grounded — that could capture warmth and connection without sounding like Christmas.

Inspired by the tone and tenderness of the classic John Lewis campaigns, we looked for a song that could do two things:

• Tell the story of a product that helps people stay close by creating space to think and work distraction-free.

• Reflect the spirit of ReMarkable — a companion you can take "With you" anywhere.

Hannah Grace’s soulful ballad with hints of jazz struck the perfect balance of emotion and hope — never forced, never sentimental.

Then we got a bit lucky — her label, Never Fade Records, shared a stripped-back piano version of the song. We mixed it with the original recording to bring a little more intimacy to the verses and a gentle lift to the chorus.

The result pairs beautifully with the stunning cinematography — three films, three stories, each reflecting what it means to be close — in their own way.
