When I first read the treatment for this commercial, I knew it needed a song with an honest melancholy in the verse to speak of the boy’s loneliness but still bring us hope and joy in the chorus.

That song was Drömmarna, written by Joakim Berg and performed by the late great Freddie Wadling. The vocal performance cuts through with non-Swedish speakers, but for Swedes, it packs a bigger emotional punch; it’s a song about children’s unending imagination, solitude, and finding comfort in others. The film was featured on Shots.
